The company "I Battelli del Brenta®"
(The boats of the Brenta Canal) provide enjoyable guided boat tours
along the Brenta Canal to discover some of the famous Venetian Villas.
Venetian nobleman used to navigate this river on the "burchielli",
barges, that's why still today all the boats sailing the Brenta
Canal are commonly called burchielli. In order to avoid explanations
in four different languages, and to provide you a more enjoyable
tour, we give multilingual tours separating the groups according
to language, in different boats. The company "I Battelli del
Brenta" has many motorships carrying from 160 to 200 passengers
and motorboats carrying from 70 to 135 passengers or "Burci" and
"Bragozzi" romantic restored wooden barges. A charming cruise, through
nine swing bridges and five locks real "water lifts", allowing the
descending of an almost 10-metre high water slope between Venice
and Padua. The guided excursions usually include boat trips from
Venice to Padua (Venezia, Fusina, Malcontenta, Oriago, Mira,
Dolo, Strà, Padova) or from Padua to Venice (Padova, Strà,
Dolo, Mira, Oriago, Malcontenta, Fusina, Venezia); entrance to the
Villa Gradenigo of Oriago, to the Villa Barchessa Valmarana
of Mira to the Villa Pisani of Strà; the visit to the Old
Mills of the 16th century at Dolo and the guide; lunch is optional;
other programms include the Venetian Lagoon. Since 1997 , we have
included on the programms a visit to the old Mills of the 16th century.
Some programms include departure or arrival in the historical centre
of Padua at the new fluvial harbour "Porte Contarine" or at the
old fluvial harbour "Portello" with its Steps of the 16th century.

journey from Noventa Padovana (or Strà) to Padua or among Paduan
canals
Boarding
at Padua Porte Contarine in the historical town centre
to navigate a suggestive waterway along the town canals skirting
the Renaissance Venetian city walls. Passing under Corso del Popolo
brigde, close to Arena park, the navigation proceeds towards the
ex slaughterhouse, a nineteenth-century building executed by Jappelli,
then, next to the University campus to Portello with its sixteenth-century
stairs, the most important harbour of the city under the Venetian
domain. This gate was portrayed by Canaletto. Its magnificient
door is made of stones from Istria. Continuing we reach Bastione
of Portello Nuovo and then, the one of Castelnuovo.
Back to Porte Contarine. About 90 minutes

Supplement

As
already underlines in some programms, a supplement of Euro 3,00
is to be paid for those groups who want to be boarded/dropped off
in Venice.The supplement can vary according to the tax imposed by

be applied for departures/arrivals from and to Fusina
In addition to the boat programms,
it is possible to make excursions
by coach to the Venetian villas of Vicenza and Treviso,
to the walled towns and eno-gastronomical itineraries to wine cellars
with wine tastes. Excursions to the Natural Park of the Euganei
Hills and many others. According to your budget, packages of excursions
and hotel accomodations (two, three, four stars) are available.

and Conditions
The above-mentioned rates 2004 are for
groups of at a least of 25 people. Standard departures will be carried
out combining 35 people at least, but all the excursions can be
also personalized.
The entrance-fees of
Villa Pisani, Villa Barchessa Valmarana, Villa Widmann or Villa
Malcontenta are not included in the programms and they could be
added, on request, or paid for by customers directly. The entrance-fees
to Villa Barchessa Valmarana cost Euro 5,00
